Since 1905 Honolulu Branch has been working towards the betterment of our community and the world by striving to remove barriers which prohibit women and girls from fully participating in society and by fostering those activities which will aid women and girls in their struggle for equity. This is done by advancing equity through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. Those that join us belong to a community that breaks through barriers so that all women have a fair chance.
Hawaii Pacific Division tasked each branch with having discussion through the year on the options available through the new AAUW Bylaws. The five strategic goals to make AAUW powerful in the future are:
- AAUW will amplify its advocacy to achieve educational economic equity for all women and girls.
- AAUW will target its philanthropic efforts to support programs that provide women and girls with a lifetime of success.
- AAUW will create and motivate leaders in our schools, workplaces, and communities to effectively break through educational; and economic barriers affecting women and girls.
- AAUW will be regarded for its commitment to exemplary member relations, dues value and resulting member satisfaction.
- AAUW will have the sound fiscal strategy and dedicated stewardship to meet current and projected needs, address challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
Senator Tokuda requested that we work to increase the number of Women applicants to the Board of Regents. There is a video DVD of her presentation that we should all review. Having restated this message should enable Honolulu Branch to have a common vision over the next year that will include:

- AAUW Honolulu Branch will personally contact each member to stimulate them to attend one meeting in the year.
