Dear Honolulu Branch Members,
AAUW Honolulu branch has some big decisions to make this year that could make real and meaningful impact on the lives of women and girls. There are a lot of options in front of us as to how we choose to make our impact and the branch board is committed to engaging all the members of our branch in helping us decide how we are going to move forward together.
On Saturday, September 6, 2014 we will be holding a day long strategy meeting open to all branch members to make some decisions on how we want to invest our funds in the next 1-2 years. Deepti Gudipati, VP of Member Leadership Programs from AAUW-National will be on-site to facilitate this day long meeting. She is an expert facilitator with a talent for making meetings fun and engaging, as well as productive.
We are very excited to hear what you have to say in September, and to help ensure that we have a robust and meaningful conversation in person, we’ve been working hard to prepare all of our branch members and make sure you feel informed and engaged in the conversation before we get together in person.
On this page, we have created several webinar recording that showcase different areas of need in our local community, and show you different ways in which our branch can invest and work within these areas. Each recording is between 5-10 minutes long, please feel free to click through them at your own pace.

Women in Leadership
AAUW has been fighting on this issue for many years and this is also one of the fastest growing programmatic areas for the organization. Access to Education

Here is a little more information on Deepti Gudipati & Joanna Amberger, who will be facilitating the Strategic Planning Meeting on September 6:
Joanna Amberger is President of AAUW Honolulu Branch. She uses her leadership and organizing skills to serve her passion for advancing equity for women and girls. Joanna also serves as the Chair of the Board of Planned Parenthood of Hawaii. She has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s Shidler College of Business, where she focused in Finance and Entrepreneurship. She founded 3 Financial Group, an independent financial planning firm focused primarily on serving the needs of women, and she is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.
Deepti Gudipati is the Vice-President of Member Leadership Programs at the American Association of University Women.
Deepti is an experienced facilitator and strategic thinker, with a passion for building collaborative and self-aware teams. She loves helping organizations improve upon how their leaders communicate and relate to each other; and brings a decade of experience in organizational development, change management, meeting design and coaching.
Deepti holds an M.S. in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania; and an M.S. in Public Policy and B.S. in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University. She also participated in the Coro Fellowship for Public Affairs in St. Louis, MO. In her spare time, she’s an amateur photographer and budding storyteller.
